The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has proposed a 20% increase in toll rates on Swat Expressway Phase-I. The proposal is part of a revision of toll rates for the expressway.
Under the proposed change, the toll tax will increase from Rs270 to Rs324.
However, the new toll rate has not yet received final approval from the provincial cabinet.
The proposal was included in the agenda of the 57th meeting of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Cabinet. However, the meeting was postponed.
Therefore, the new toll rate will only take effect after approval from the provincial cabinet.
Motorists who frequently use the Swat Expressway are advised to follow official updates. These updates will provide details about the final toll charges and their implementation date.
On the other hand, earlier, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Culture and Tourism Authority (KPCTA) recently introduced an online system for tourism related businesses.
The new system allows businesses across the province to apply for registration and licences online.
The service is available through the Business Management Information System (BMIS) Portal. The Tourist Services Wing (TSW) of KPCTA operates the portal.
Business owners can use the portal to apply for a licence online. The facility is available for hotels, guest houses, restaurants, travel and tour agencies, rental car services, ticketing businesses and tourist guides.
The initiative aims to improve business services. It also aims to promote safe and quality tourism across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
How to apply online
- Visit the official BMIS Portal and create an account
- Enter your name, CNIC number, contact details, email address and phone number
- Select your business category
- Complete the online application form with the required details
- Check the payment details and scope of your business
- Print the generated challan and pay the required fee at any Bank of Khyber branch
- Upload the required documents
- Review all information carefully before submitting the application
- After submission, the application will be sent to the relevant department for processing
- Applicants can track the progress of their application through the BMIS dashboard
