Maulana Tahir Ashrafi Condemns KP Chief Minister’s Remarks Against Pakistan Army

Web desk: Chairman of the All Pakistan Ulema Council, Maulana Tahir Ashrafi, has expressed deep regret and condemnation over the recent statement by the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

Maulana Ashrafi said the remarks made by the Chief Minister were “highly regrettable.” And amounted to an attempt to tarnish the image of Pakistan.

“Even India has not made the kind of accusations that the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has made against the Pakistan Army,” he said.

Ashrafi emphasised that the Pakistan Army is the protector of mosques and madrasas. And that such places of worship will always remain safe under its security.

“The basis of the Pakistan Army is faith, piety, and jihad in the way of Allah,” he said. He added that the army has fought and won a major war against terrorism and continues to fight the battles imposed on Pakistan.

Further, he said the Chief Minister’s statement regarding mosques was “misleading and irresponsible.” He warned that such rhetoric only benefits the country’s enemies.

“Do not go to such extremes in political opposition that the dignity of the country, nation, and Pakistan Army is harmed,” Ashrafi cautioned.

“Did the Chief Minister and his colleagues ever speak when the bodies were being taken from the mosques?” he asked.

Ashrafi noted that nearly 70 per cent of terrorist incidents in Pakistan occurred on Fridays. Targeting mosques and places of worship.

“What the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa said in hatred has nothing to do with reality,” he added. “Such talk only benefits the enemy.”
