The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan has strongly condemned the heinous terrorist attack targeting a train in Quetta, Pakistan.

In a post on X, the foreign ministry said that “We extend our heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and express our solidarity with the people and Government of brotherly Pakistan during this difficult time. Such acts of terrorism can never be justified and must be unequivocally rejected in all their forms and manifestations.”

President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have also strongly condemned the “heinous” blast.

Earlier, a tragic attack in Quetta, Balochistan, martyred at least 14 civilians by the India-backed BLA (Balochistan Liberation Army).

According to reports, the shuttle train was heading from Quetta Cantonment to the railway station when it was targeted near Chaman Phatak shortly after 8am.

The blast was loud enough to be heard in various distant areas of the city and caused damage to nearby buildings

A medical emergency has been declared in Quetta’s hospitals, with all doctors, paramedical staff, and medical personnel summoned to duty.

In a post on X, PM Shehbaz said, “Such cowardly acts of terrorism cannot weaken the resolve of the people of Pakistan. We remain steadfast in our determination to eliminate terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. I express my heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and pray for the swift recovery of the injured. The entire nation stands in solidarity with the people of Balochistan in this hour of grief.”
