Punjab Traffic Police warns about fraudulent website

City Traffic Police Lahore has announced extended working hours for all licensing offices across Lahore to provide greater convenience to citizens.

Under the new schedule, licensing centres will remain operational from 8:00 am until midnight in an effort to improve public service and reduce overcrowding at the facilities.

Lahore currently has 12 licensing testing centres and 33 licence facilitation centres offering driving licence services and related assistance throughout the city.

The announcement was made by newly appointed CTO Syed Abdul Rahim Sherazi during a high-level meeting held to review the performance of licensing offices. The meeting was attended by the DSP Licensing heads of licensing centres and other concerned officials.

During the session, officials reviewed the efficiency of current licensing services and discussed measures to further improve service delivery for citizens seeking licences and related documentation. The revised office timings will now be enforced at all licensing centres across the city.

Driving licence system becomes completely paperless

In a separate development, Inspector General (IG) Islamabad, Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi, has taken a major step to modernise the licensing system by making the Islamabad Traffic Police licensing process completely paperless.

IG Islamabad formally inaugurated the paperless licensing system. Chief Traffic Officer Muhammad Sarfraz Virk and other traffic officials were also present on the occasion.

The IG reviewed all paperless counters and issued directives regarding the new system. Speaking at the event, he said the initiative has been introduced to facilitate citizens and save their valuable time.

Previously, applicants had to fill out medical forms, attach photographs, and submit multiple documents. Now, citizens no longer need to bring any documents, photocopies, or photos.

He further stated that the entire process from medical examination to licence issuance has now been made fully paperless. He appreciated the Chief Traffic Officer and his team for completing the project in a short period of time.

The IG also announced that the licensing fee system will soon be digitised. Citizens will now only need to bring their national identity card to obtain a driving licence from Islamabad Traffic Police.
