US President Donald Trump formally invited Chinese President Xi Jinping to visit White House in September, Donald Trump invited Xi Jinping during his three-day visit to China.
“Thank you again, President Xi, for this beautiful welcome, and tonight, it is my honour to extend an invitation to you, Madam Peng, to visit us at the White House this September 24, and we look forward to it,” Donald Trump said while addressing a state banquet.
On the other hand, the Chinese President Xi Jinping also praised Trump at a state banquet, stressing the better relations between the US and China.
“We both believe that the U.S.-China relationship is the most important bilateral relationship in the world. We must make it work and not mess it up,” the Chinese President said.
It was Trump’s first visit to China in nearly nine years. Earlier, the US President Trump met Xi in October 2025 during his visit to South Korea.
The invitation came after Trump and Xi held a bilateral meeting in Beijing that lasted more than two hours on Thursday.
According to the White House, the two leaders discussed business, trade, the Iran war, and the Strait of Hormuz.
