Dubai-based budget airline, Flydubai, has suspended its flights to three major cities in Pakistan, according to reports on Thursday.
According to media reports, the airline has decided to suspend flights to Lahore, Islamabad, and Peshawar until 26 October 2026 due to operational issues.
However, flights to other cities, including Karachi, Sialkot, Multan, Faisalabad, and Quetta, will continue as normal.
Airline officials have clarified that other UAE based airlines operating in Pakistan are still running their flights as usual. Adding that there has been no change in their schedules.
The airline also said that the passengers who have already booked tickets will be refunded.
In addition to this, passengers are being offered rebooking options on other airlines to avoid travel problems.
As seen previously, tensions in the region have been affecting Gulf flight operations. Due to these complex geopolitical situations, many flights in the region were cancelled or rescheduled.
Passenger traffic at Dubai Airport saw a significant drop of up to 66 per cent in March. Reports say that this has impacted airline strategies.
Economic experts say that limiting operations due to regional tensions is a worrying development for airlines in the Gulf region.
The suspension has affected the travel plans of passengers and also limited access for Pakistani expatriates travelling to Dubai. However, flights are expected to resume once the situation improves.
