Two vessels carrying thousands of metric tons of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) from Oman have arrived at Port Qasim, raising hopes of improved supplies and a possible reduction in LPG prices across Pakistan.

According to media reports, the two vessels brought a combined consignment of 7,603 metric tons of LPG to Karachi. Sources said the vessel Prianis had completed the discharge of 4,250 metric tons of LPG at the SSGC terminal, while Elisa I had offloaded 3,083 metric tons at the Engro terminal.

Meanwhile, sources at the border indicated that LPG supplies from Iran, which had previously been suspended, could resume as early as Saturday. Market sources said the arrival of imported LPG and the possible restoration of cross-border supplies could improve availability in the domestic market and ease pressure on prices.

A reduction in LPG prices may be announced as early as Saturday, although the extent of any decrease remains unclear. The development could provide relief to consumers who rely on LPG for cooking and other household needs, particularly in areas without access to piped natural gas.
