The Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Multan plans to introduce digital marking for matriculation and intermediate annual examinations from 2027, alongside new model papers for classes 9 and 10 and a proposed committee to address complaints regarding marking and low scores.
Addressing a press conference on Friday, BISE Multan Chairman Dr Ijaz Ahmad Tatla said model papers were being prepared to familiarise students with examination formats, question patterns and assessment methods.
He said a proposed three-member committee would examine complaints about marking and unexpectedly low scores. Where complaints were found to be justified, the committee would recommend rechecking or correction of marks in accordance with the board’s rules.
Dr Tatla said the board had completed a trial of digital marking and was providing online training to examiners and relevant staff to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.
He added that the board was also considering introducing electronic answer sheets (e-sheets) in selected papers of the second annual examinations this year. To improve transparency and reduce administrative expenses, the board had also begun transferring payments to examiners and other relevant employees directly into their bank accounts, he said.
