Recently, there have been growing claims on social media that the ‘TTP leaders and members have either left Afghanistan for Pakistan, come under surveillance of the Afghan Taliban or been detained by the Islamic Emirate.’ These claims have been declared completely fake and fabricated by security sources on Thursday.
According to a post on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, a ‘source in Kabul’ has claimed that the TTP leadership is deeply angered by the recent actions that have been taken against its members.
The post adds that they have ‘even warned the Islamic Emirate about possible consequences.’
The post further adds that, according to sources, ‘discussions are taking place within the TTP about declaring its leadership independent and making it clear that the group does not consider itself subordinate to anyone while operating in Pakistan.’
“The source further claims that a significant number of TTP members have been detained and that relations between the TTP leadership and the Islamic Emirate have become increasingly tense,” it adds further.
“However, the source says both sides have political, security, and regional considerations that may prevent them from publicly revealing the full extent of what is happening,” it claims.
The post then states, “If tensions between the TTP and the Islamic Emirate continue to escalate, the consequences could also have a significant impact on relations between Afghanistan and Pakistan.”
“The coming days may reveal whether this is simply internal pressure or the beginning of a deeper confrontation between the two sides,” it concludes.
However, the claims have been fact-checked. According to sources, there is no such pressure, and these reports are merely rumours that have been fabricated.
