Web desk: Indian opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi briefly lost his composure, reportedly agitated, in the nineties during India U19’s match against the UAE in the U-19 Asia Cup 2025, on Friday.

UAE wicketkeeper Saleh Amin joked about the “90s curse.” This was when Suryavanshi retorted humorously, “Tere saath selfie loon?” before continuing his innings.

Although usually calm, Suryavanshi briefly lost his ‘composure’ in the nineties. This happened after the UAE wicketkeeper Saleh Amin joked to him about the “90s curse.”

The Indian opener lost his cool momentarily, reportedly agitated.

He responded with “Tere saath selfie loon?” which means, “Should I take a selfie with you?”

Indian media reports that he was “Agitated by Amin’s words.” Further adding that ‘Suryavanshi hit back in the most hilarious manner and said, ‘Tere saath selfie loon?’

He struck 14 sixes and nine boundaries. It helped him race to his first fifty in just 30 balls and his next in 26 more deliveries before being dismissed by Uddish Suri in the 33rd over.

Indian opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi produced a sensational innings of 171 runs to lead India to a record 433/6 against the United Arab Emirates in the U-19 Asia Cup 2025.

Suryavanshi’s knock of 171 is now the second-highest score by an Indian in a Youth ODI. It lies just behind Ambati Rayudu’s 177* in 2002, as per the reports.

India Under-19s defeated the United Arab Emirates Under-19s by 234 runs in the first match of the U-19 Asia Cup on Friday, December 12, 2025.

India posted a massive total of 433/6 in their 50 overs. It was led by Vaibhav Suryavanshi’s record innings of 171 runs. In response, the UAE managed 199/7 in their 50 overs.
