Pakistani boxer Usman Wazir has won his 19th international world ranking fight.
Wazir defeated an Indonesian boxer in a fight held in Pattaya, Thailand. He dedicated his victory to the Pakistan Armed Forces and police personnel.
Speaking after the fight, Wazir said he was proud to win his 19th international fight against the Indonesian boxer. He dedicated the win to the armed forces and police officers.
Wazir qualifies for WBA Gold title
Wazir also dedicated his victory to the martyrs who lost their lives while fighting terrorism in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
He said the Pakistan Army has always supported him. He also announced that he has qualified for the WBA Gold title.
Wazir said he would announce details of his WBA Gold title fight soon.
The boxer added that he would try to win his 20th fight for Pakistan.
We want to bring a gold medal for Pakistan: Sahibzada Farhan
Team Pakistan captain Sahibzada Farhan has said that his team is psychologically geared towards winning gold medals for the country in the Asian Games.
Pakistan cricket captain Farhan said the team is not under pressure ahead of the Asian Games. He added that all the players are in good shape and ready for the tournament.
Farhan said Pakistan will not focus only on India. The team will also give full attention to all other opponents.
“We have to put in some effort against all the teams and not just India,” Farhan said.
The captain said the team wants to win all its matches and return home with a gold medal for Pakistan.
“We want to win against all the teams,” he said.
Farhan said he was happy with the players’ current form and preparation. He added that the whole team is in very good shape before the tournament.
He also repeated that the team would give its best at the Asian Games and try to win gold for Pakistan.
