Virtual University announces 17 jobs at Islamabad Head Office

The Virtual University of Pakistan (VU) has announced 17 new management, administrative and other vacancies, with most positions based at its head office in Islamabad.

The available jobs include senior management posts as well as administrative positions. Successful candidates will initially be appointed on three-year contracts. These contracts may be extended if their performance remains satisfactory.

  • One General Manager Professional Development Centre
  • One Deputy Director ORIC
  • One Deputy Director Planning and Development
  • One Deputy Registrar Legal
  • One Deputy Director Finance, Planning and Commercial
  • One Assistant Director ORIC
  • Two Deputy Directors Administration
  • Two Assistant Directors Administration
  • One Public Relations Officer
  • Three Electrician positions. Two of these are based in Lahore, while one is in Islamabad

All other selected candidates will work at VU’s Islamabad head office. 

Eligibility requirements

Qualifications and experience vary according to each position.

Applicants for Director Planning and Development need 16 years of education in engineering from an HEC-recognized university. They also require an MBA or PMP qualification and at least 15 years of relevant experience.

Candidates for Director Administration and Director Campuses require a first-class master’s degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, Human Resource Management or an equivalent field. At least 10 years of post-qualification experience is required.

The Public Relations Officer post requires a master’s degree in Mass Communication or an equivalent qualification with at least a second division. Applicants also need five years of relevant experience.

Electrician candidates require a second-division DAE in Electrical Technology and at least two years of relevant experience. Practical knowledge of electrical installation, maintenance, distribution boards and generators is also required.

Applications must be submitted online by September 28, 2026.

Candidates must complete the online form, upload the required documents and press the final submit button. Hard-copy applications are not be accepted.

Applicants with foreign degrees need an HEC equivalence certificate. Those already employed by government, semi-government or autonomous organizations must provide a No Objection Certificate (NOC).

Application fees vary by pay scale. Rs3,000 non-refundable fee for Pay Scale E positions and Rs1,000 for another category. Candidates applying for more than one job need to submit separate applications and fees.
