New visa rules for Russian citizens announced by Pakistan

To complete the visa application process, Russian nationals will now be required to complete sponsor biometric verification through the PakID application.

This announcement was made by the embassy of Pakistan in Russia.

It was made clear by the embassy that the visa applications that are submitted without the sponsor’s biometric verification will not be processed.

The embassy again urged the applicants to comply with the updated requirements for smooth process.

The embassy has also clarified that Russian citizens can only apply for tourist visas for Pakistan through the online visa portal of the Ministry of Interior.

As part of the application process, the applicants are required to submit a valid passport and a clean photograph.

Multiple entries are allowed on the tourist visa and it is issued for 90 days. The embassy also explained that whether a visa will be issued or will not be issued completely depends upon the decision of the Government of Pakistan.

The embassy further advised the Russian tourists to submit their intent to travel at least one day (24 hours) before their planned trip in order to receive a Visa Grant Notice.

The embassy also in addition reminded the applicants that the foreign nationals who are holding a visa prior to arrival will not be permitted to leave or enter Pakistan through the Torkham and Chaman land border crossings.

The applicants should follow the updated procedures that the embassy reiterated.

The updated procedure includes biometric verification through the PakID application.

Following the updated procedures will ensure a smooth process without any delays.
