According to reports, Pakistani technology entrepreneur Waqar Zaka has claimed victory in the prestigious WEEX TradFi Masters global trading competition, outperforming more than 3,000 participants from around the world.
Trading independently with his own capital, Zaka recorded an impressive 74% return in just 20 days, generating $74,000 in profit. His outstanding performance earned him the championship title and the competition’s grand prize, a brand-new 2026 Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon.
The international tournament challenged traders across multiple asset classes, including stocks, commodities, precious metals, and cryptocurrencies, testing participants’ market knowledge, strategy, and risk management skills.
Zaka’s achievement is being viewed as a notable milestone for Pakistan, highlighting the country’s growing presence in the global financial and digital asset trading landscape. His victory demonstrates the increasing competitiveness of Pakistani professionals on the international stage.
Online trading competitions are increasingly emerging as a new category of digital contests, drawing comparisons with esports. Participants are evaluated on their trading strategies, analytical decision-making, market adaptability, profitability and disciplined risk management while competing in real-time using their own capital.
Following his victory, renewed attention has also been directed towards Waqar Zaka’s long-standing advocacy for Bitcoin as a strategic national asset. Over the years, he has publicly urged Pakistan to consider adding Bitcoin to its national reserves, arguing that the asset’s long-term growth potential could strengthen the country’s financial position. He has also suggested that gains from such a reserve could contribute to reducing the national debt and lessen Pakistan’s reliance on financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
