Shaniera Akram responds to Wasim Akram’s death rumours

Wasim Akram's death rumours

Wasim Akram’s death rumours have been circulating on social media after an AI-generated fake video.

Putting an end to the false claims, Shaniera Akram has now shut down the misinformation.

Akram’s wife has shared a video on Instagram, saying, “In response to the FAKE news and AI videos circulating, I just took this video for you, and as you can see, he is in the gym and seems he ok!”

The video is AI-generated and falsely shows Wasim Akram’s close friend and fellow cricketer, Shoaib Akhtar, announcing his death.

Wasim’s Business Manager, Arsalan H Shah, also put an end to Wasim Akram’s death rumours with this story:

He urged people that “any such news being shared is entirely fake and should be strongly condemned”.

Shah also warned that those who are creating such videos “will be dealt with strict and legal action”.

Earlier, Wasim Akram paid a heartfelt tribute to England all-rounder Ben Stokes following his retirement from international cricket, calling him one of the greatest all-rounders the game has ever produced.

The former Pakistan captain praised Stokes’ achievements and said his departure would leave a significant void, particularly in the longest format of the game.
