Wasim Akram slams Indian netizen
Responding on social media platform X, formerly Twitter, Akram warned the user to stop spreading misinformation.
He said that he may have to report. He also urged people not to believe everything they see on social media and to verify information multiple times before accepting it as true.
“Stop lying, I will have to report you, things are going sideways with fake news . I have learned one thing in this day and age don’t believe social media straight away. Triple check if you have to,” the former cricketer wrote.

False statement
The netizen had shared a statement claiming it was made by Wasim Akram. The statement read, “Parchi doesn’t work in India. There is only one rule there perform or make way.”
“It doesn’t matter if you’ve won a World Cup, led the team successfully, or gone years without losing a series as captain. If your form drops and your performances aren’t up to the mark, selectors are willing to move on,” the falsely attributed statement read further.
“Look at Suryakumar Yadav, despite everything he achieved, questions were raised the moment his batting form dipped.”
“That’s how competitive Indian cricket is. In Pakistan, winning a major ICC trophy can sometimes make a player untouchable for years, but in India, even legends like Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma are told to go back and prove themselves through domestic cricket if they want to continue at the highest level. That’s the difference, reputation gets respect, but performance decides everything,” further added the falsely attributed statement.
