We will stand with public opinion on new provinces says Bilawal Bhutto

Chairman of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, said that the PPP will support public opinion regarding the creation of new provinces. He also stressed that such decisions should be based on census rather than force.

Bilawal Bhutto said during his press conference today in Islamabad, “How can I say that PPP is against new provinces when no assembly has opposed the idea?”

He also mentioned that the party’s position is clear on the issue of new provinces as it would support public opinion regarding the creation of small provinces.

“We have never accepted decisions through force, nor will we ever do so,” Bilawal said.

Bilawal Bhutto said that the demand for a new Saraiki province already existed in Punjab and the issue should be solved through a census.
The PPP chairman also said he wanted PTI founder Imran Khan to receive proper treatment and recover.

Speaking about his contacts with the opposition, Bilawal said the PPP had been in contact with opposition parties and that he wanted political parties to sit together and hold discussions.

He said he had met opposition leader Mahmood Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas.
