Courtney Walsh, West Indies pace legend has praised the tradition of Pakistan’s fast bowling.

He said that the country continues to produce top-quality pacers. He specifically mentioned Shaheen Afridi stating that he stands out among the current crop.

Courtney Walsh speaking during the Pakistan Super League (PSL 11) stated that the conditions of Pakistan and strong skill development have helped create great fast bowlers across generations. Which include past legends to today’s emerging names.

The bowling coach of Rawalpindiz singled out Shaheen Afridi for his attitude, discipline and consistent execution.

He stated that the captain of Lahore Qalandars always carries himself well and takes a lot of pride in performing for Pakistan. He is also very passionate about franchise cricket.

Other than that Courtney Walsh also praised Pakistan’s pace depth. He named Mohammad Wasim Jr. and Naseem Shah as the bowlers who are keeping Pakistan’s tradition of fast bowlers alive.

The former West Indies legendary pacer argued that modern T20 cricket is extremely tough for fast bowlers as the format heavily favours batters.

However, he was very happy to see that pacers are still making a huge impact through control, skill and consistency.

It was added by Walsh that the young bowlers must stay disciplined, work hard and keep polishing their core skills. He stressed that consistency remains key to success.

On April 16 Walsh’s Rawalpindiz will be in action against fellow debutants Hyderabad Kingsmen on April 16.

They are looking to get their first win in the PSL 11. Quetta Gladiators and Lahore Qalandars will take on each other on April 17.
