Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Ali Khan has said that Sohail Afridi has been tasked with leading the party’s street movement on the instructions of PTI founder Imran Khan.

Speaking to the private media outlet, Gohar said the party wanted obstacles in the way of justice to be removed and assured that its protests would remain peaceful and political.

He said PTI would not block roads during its protests and would keep routes open for ambulances, hearses and other emergency vehicles.

“We are only raising our voice for justice,” Gohar said, adding that the party’s protests would not create disorder.

The PTI chairman warned that further political tensions would harm everyone, including the public. He said political issues should be resolved peacefully before the situation led to the emergence of a “third force”.

Gohar stressed that maintaining peace and law and order was a shared responsibility and that “Pakistan comes first”.

He also expressed hope that a recent Supreme Court decision would pave the way for Imran Khan to be shifted to a hospital for medical treatment and tests.

Gohar further called for a member of Imran Khan’s family to be included in his medical board.

He said the issue of Imran Khan’s treatment and medical board could be resolved easily, adding that addressing the matter could end concerns that had continued for the past 15 months.
