The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a weather alert, predicting rain and hailstorms across the country.
According to the authority, thunderstorms, strong winds, and hail are expected on April 17 and 18 in different parts of the country, including northern areas, Punjab, western Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and northern Balochistan.
The NDMA issued an alert regarding heavy rain in Gilgit, Skardu, Chitral, Kalam, Dir, Batagram, Balakot, Muzaffarabad, Rawalakot, Kotli, and surrounding areas.
The authority also predicted rain in the different areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Swat, Shangla, Buner, Mardan, Malakand, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Haripur, Kohat, Bannu, and Lakki Marwat.
Rain is also expected in different areas of Punjab, including Rawalpindi, Murree, Attock, Chakwal, Jhelum, and Mianwali.
In Baluchistan’s Zhob, Qila Saifullah, Loralai, Barkhan, Kohlu, Pishin, Ziarat, Quetta, and Kalat, rain is expected on April 17 and 18.

Earlier, A landslide struck Murree’s Dariyagali Road and destroyed two buildings, officials confirmed on Sunday, triggering a swift response from local authorities.
Rescue teams, along with district administration officials, rushed to the site immediately after receiving reports of the incident and launched relief and assessment operations in the affected area. Heavy machinery was also brought in to clear debris and ensure the area was secured.
Authorities said they had already evacuated the buildings before the landslide occurred, moving residents to safer locations in time. This timely action helped prevent any casualties, despite the scale of destruction caused by the incident.
