Rumours are circulating on social media regarding the closure of schools in Islamabad tomorrow (Monday).

Such claims, made by some social media accounts, are not true.

No official notification has been issued so far regarding the closure of schools in Islamabad.

However, Headstart school has announced an off tomorrow for their students, but for now, most of the schools in Islamabad are open.

Parents and students are advised to check with their schools for confirmation.

It is pertinent to mention that such fake news started circulating online after Section 144 was imposed in Islamabad.

Earlier in the day, protests erupted in the capital after Khamenei’s death. However, the situation is now under control, and normal life has resumed.

Call for peaceful protests

The Central Anjuman-e-Imamia Gilgit Baltistan has called for peaceful protests amid Iran situation.

In a statement issued from Gilgit, the organisation strongly condemned the reported aggression and termed it an assault on a “free and proud Islamic country.”

Additionally, Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has appealed to the people of Pakistan to protest peacefully.

He further added that today is a very sad day for the whole of the Muslim world, Iran, and Pakistan. “The people of Pakistan are also as much mourning as the people of Iran”, he said.
