Maryam Nawaz approves 10bn financial assistance for security forces in Balochistan

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced 10bn financial assistance for security forces in Balochistan. Maryam Nawaz said that Punjab will always work for stability and peace in the province.

The chief minister announced the financial support for security forces during her visit to Quetta. Maryam Nawaz also visited the Frontier Corps (FC) Headquarters.

CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz visited Balochistan after coordinated attacks by Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) and other Baloch terrorist organisations in different cities of Balochistan, including Quetta, Mastung, Nushki, Dalbandin, Kharan, Panjgur, Tump, Gwadar, and Pasni.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), after the attack by BLA and other terrorist organisations, security forces conducted Operation Raddul Fitna 1. The security forces killed around 220 India-sponsored terrorists and cleared the areas across Balochistan.
However, 36 civilians and 22 security officials had lost their lives during the attacks by BLA in different cities of Balochistan.

CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz also visited the Chief Minister’s secretariat to meet Chief Minister Balochistan, Sarfraz Bugti.

Maryam Nawaz also commended the people of Balochistan for staying committed to Balochistan and Pakistan. “The spirit of the people of Balochistan and their attachment to Pakistan is commendable,” she said.

“We stand with Balochistan. The elimination of terrorism is possible through national unity, and we want to see peace, stability and prosperity in Balochistan,” she further remarked.   

Earlier, CM Maryam Nawaz met Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail at the Governor’s House in Quetta to discuss the country’s law and order situation, recent political developments in Balochistan, and other matters of mutual interest.

Governor Mandokhail spoke about the friendly relations between the federal government and the provinces and stressed the need for practical steps to promote inter-provincial harmony and strengthen ties.
CM Maryam Nawaz assured the governor of her continued contact and full cooperation in the future.
