1,686 undocumented Afghan nationals detained in Balochistan border areas

Security forces have detained 1,686 undocumented Afghan nationals during 40 successful operations carried out in the border districts of Balochistan. Of those detained, 1,257 were immediately repatriated.

The security sources revealed that networks involving undocumented Afghan nationals and human trafficking continue to pose significant challenges to the country’s security, public order, and economic stability. Security forces are strengthening border management and strictly enforcing immigration laws to curb illegal crossings and facilitate the repatriation of undocumented foreign nationals.

Security forces and relevant authorities are taking coordinated measures to strengthen border surveillance and ensure the strict enforcement of immigration laws.

According to security sources, the process of identifying, detaining and repatriating individuals residing in the country illegally will continue. Authorities are also carrying out targeted operations against human trafficking networks to strengthen border security and curb illegal cross-border movement.

On the other hand, police also conducted a major operation against Afghan nationals residing illegally in Karachi’s Sohrab Goth area, detaining more than 20 individuals. The operation was carried out on the special directives of the Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh.

According to police officials, entry and exit routes of the targeted area were sealed before the search operation to prevent suspects from escaping. A heavy police contingent then conducted house-to-house searches and thoroughly checked residential locations.

During the operation, biometric devices were used to verify the identities of those detained and determine their legal status in the country. Police said the use of modern technology helped speed up the verification process.

A large number of police personnel took part in the operation, while female officers were also included in the team to ensure proper searches involving women.
