Pakistan A defeated India A by eight wickets in a thrilling encounter, securing their second consecutive win and a place in the semi-finals.

Batting first, India A were restricted to 136 all out in 19 overs. The innings had started brightly with a brisk 49-run partnership between 14-year-old sensation Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Naman Dhir.

Suryavanshi, who had recently scored 144 against the UAE, continued his attacking form, hitting crisp shots and powerful strokes despite the tricky surface.

He fell for 45 off 28 balls, while Dhir contributed 35 runs. Sudheera Samarawickrama top-scored with 48, but a collapse saw India A lose 8 wickets for 45 runs in quick succession.

Pakistan A’s left-arm spinner Maaz Sadaqat turned the match in his side’s favour. He dismissed Jitesh Sharma and Nehal Wadhera in quick succession and finished with figures of 3-1-12-2, tightening the screws on India A.

Right-arm seamer Shahid Aziz then cleaned up the lower order, ensuring India A fell well short of a competitive total.

In the chase, Sadaqat continued his heroics with the bat. Opening the innings, he displayed an aggressive approach, racing to a 31-ball half-century.

He struck boundaries all around the park, including sixes off Gurjapneet Singh and Suyash Sharma.

Despite a couple of near dismissals, Sadaqat remained unbeaten on 79 off 47 balls, steering Pakistan A to 137 for 2 in just 13.2 overs.

Fakhar Naeem also contributed. Sadaqat’s all-around performance dominated the contest.
