Samsung is preparing to revive its dormant A7x lineup with the launch of the Samsung galaxy a77 5g, the first model in the series since the Galaxy A73 in 2022.
According to the media reports Samsung’s Galaxy A77 comes with a powerful 8GB of RAM and runs on Android 16, waving a strong come back with up-to-date software package.
The device has appeared in the Geekbench database which means an active development process.
The key talking point is its “mystery” chipset, which is believed to be related to Samsung’s Exynos 2400 / 2400e family.
The CPU configuration features three prime cores clocked at 2.78GHz, three performance cores at 2.3GHz, and four efficiency cores at 1.82GHz.
Like the flagship Exynos 2400 line, it’s a deca-core (10-core) design, but with lower clock speeds.
These described feature suggests that the Samsung Galaxy A77 5G will be launched as an upper mid-range smartphone, rather than in a flagship category.
Industry observers suggest Samsung may be using lower-binned Exynos 2400 series chips to deliver solid performance at a more accessible price point, while efficiently utilising existing chip inventories.
As per the details shared till now, information related to camera setup, display size, battery capacity and charging speed have not yet surfaced.
However, early expectations in the local market put the starting price around Rs. 179,999 in Pakistan, placing it in the premium mid-range segment.
With the A7x line having been inactive for nearly two years, the Galaxy A77 is likely to attract interest from users who want a modern mid-range device with 5G connectivity, a powerful multi-core processor and long-term software support, without stepping up to the Galaxy S series.
If launched alongside the rumoured Galaxy A57, the Samsung Galaxy A77 5G could be officially unveiled in the coming months, with more detailed leaks expected as development progresses.
