Passengers travelling from the UAE today are advised to check their flight status before leaving for the airport, as several major airlines continue to cancel and delay flights due to ongoing regional airspace restrictions and security concerns.
Despite most flights operating as scheduled, airlines including Emirates, Etihad Airways, flydubai, Air Arabia and several international carriers have suspended selected services while reviewing operations amid the evolving security situation in the Gulf.
Emirates has cancelled multiple flights from Dubai to Bahrain, Kuwait and Dammam, urging passengers to verify the latest schedule through its official channels before travelling.
Etihad Airways has suspended selected flights between Abu Dhabi, Bahrain and Kuwait, while affected passengers are being accommodated on alternative services.
flydubai has cancelled flights to Tbilisi, Abha and Salalah, whereas Air Arabia has suspended several services from Sharjah and Abu Dhabi to Kuwait, Bahrain, Doha and Abha.
Regional airlines are also adjusting operations. Qatar Airways has extended the suspension of passenger flights to Bahrain, Erbil and Kuwait until August 7, while Oman Air continues to report delays and cancellations due to technical issues and temporary airspace restrictions.
Several international airlines have also extended flight suspensions. Air France, Lufthansa Group, Singapore Airlines, Air Canada, Cathay Pacific, Finnair, ITA Airways and others have either suspended or reduced services to Gulf destinations, while British Airways is offering flexible travel options for eligible passengers. Turkish Airlines has resumed flights to Dubai and Abu Dhabi, although operations to Iran remain suspended.
The disruptions come as airlines continue to reroute aircraft to avoid conflict zones amid ongoing regional security concerns. Although diplomatic efforts to ease tensions around the Strait of Hormuz are progressing, carriers remain cautious due to changing airspace restrictions and operational challenges.
Authorities have advised travellers to arrive at the airport at least three hours before departure, check their flight status before leaving home, complete online check-in where available and keep contact details updated to receive real-time flight notifications.
Passengers travelling to destinations across the Gulf and the Middle East are strongly advised to monitor airline updates regularly, as flight schedules may change at short notice.
