Chief Justice Sardar Muhammad Sarfraz Dogar at the the Islamabad High Court (IHC) has approved an increase in the Transport Monetization Allowance for judicial officers and court officials serving in grades BPS 17 to BPS 22.
Monetization allowances are generally introduced in place of official transport facilities, allowing eligible officers to receive a fixed monthly amount instead of being provided with government vehicles and related maintenance expenses.
According to an official notification issued by the Registrar of the Islamabad High Court, the revised Transport Monetization Allowance applies to all judicial officers of the Islamabad Judicial Service as well as officers of the IHC from BPS-17 to BPS-22.

- BPS-22 officers will receive a monthly transport monetization allowance of Rs250,000 per month
- BPS-21: Rs195,000
- BPS-20: Rs175,000
- BPS-19: Rs150,000
- BPS-18: Rs100,000
- BPS-17: Rs60,000
Further, the funds will be provided through the approved budgets of both the Islamabad High Court and the District Judiciary, Islamabad, ensuring that the revised allowances can be implemented without requiring additional financial arrangements.
The revised rates will now apply to all eligible officials from July 1, 2026, in accordance with the approved notification issued by the court administration.
On the other hand, previously, the federal cabinet, chaired by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif approved a new “All Pakistan Services Cadre Posts Parity Allowance” for senior civil servants. Around Rs1.8 billion has been allocated for the allowance, and it will take effect from 1 July 2026.
The new allowance is expected to be at least 100% of an officer’s basic salary. It will be available to Grade 17 to Grade 22 officers of the Pakistan Administrative Service (PAS) and the Police Service of Pakistan (PSP) who are posted in the federal government or Islamabad.
