Hamza Nazar, the domestic cricketer, has been banned from both international and domestic cricket for two years by the PCB.
The board has imposed the suspension after conducting a disciplinary hearing on information provided by the player during a visa application process, and has fined the player PKR one million.
The action was taken following an investigation that revealed Hamza Nazar did not provide complete and accurate information in his visa application to the PCB.
The inquiry found that he had provided inaccurate information and concealed material facts, which is considered by PCB a serious violation of their normal standards of practice.
The PCB appointed a three-member inquiry committee to investigate the issue. The committee considered the evidence and provided an opportunity to the accused Hamza Nazar to explain and rebut the charges.
The committee considered his statement and all factors and sent the committee’s findings and recommendations to the PCB.
On analysing the committee’s report, the PCB came to the conclusion of suspending all domestic and international cricket for the player for a period of two years.
The board also approved a financial penalty of PKR one million.
In its statement, the PCB stated that it takes very seriously any matter that concerns misrepresentation, non-disclosure of information or the submission of misleading information.
It said such conduct would not be in keeping with the image of the players and individuals of Pakistan cricket who are expected to uphold values of honesty, professionalism and responsibility.
The board also reiterated its commitment to safeguarding the integrity and reputation of Pakistan cricket.
It said that it will not condone any action that can harm the reputation of the PCB, Pakistan cricket or an action that will let down the millions of fans of Pakistan cricket.
