Prime Minister (PM) Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif arrived at Qasr Al-Safa in Makkah on Friday, where he was received by Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman.
Following the welcome, the two leaders began a bilateral meeting aimed at discussing Pakistan-Saudi Arabia relations and matters of mutual interest.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, and Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif are accompanying Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif during the high-level meeting.
The talks come at a significant time for Pakistan-Saudi relations, with Islamabad and Riyadh seeking to further strengthen their longstanding strategic, economic and defence cooperation.
The presence of Pakistan’s senior political and military leadership underscores the importance of the visit and the growing strategic partnership between the two countries.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces, Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, performed Umrah along with a delegation in the holy city of Makkah.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, Federal Ministers Khawaja Muhammad Asif and Attaullah Tarar, and Special Assistant Tariq Fatemi also performed Umrah.
The delegation prayed for the development and prosperity of the country, the Muslim Ummah and peace and stability in the world and the region.
Before performing Umrah, the delegation was blessed with the opportunity to visit the Holy Kaaba.
The Prime Minister is on a three-day official visit of Saudi Arabia at the invitation of Saudi Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.
