The Board of Directors of Pakistan International Airlines Corporation Limited (PIACL) has approved a bonus equivalent to one basic month’s salary for its employees during its first meeting since the airline’s privatisation.
The 102nd meeting of the PIACL Board approved the bonus as a gesture of appreciation for employees’ dedication and contribution to the airline’s ongoing turnaround efforts.
According to a PIA spokesperson, the primary objective of the bonus is to recognise employees’ services and boost their morale. The spokesperson said the workforce remains the most important pillar in the airline’s revival process.
“The decision reflects the confidence of the new management in building a better, more efficient and globally competitive airline,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that the move is expected to improve the airline’s operational performance and support efforts to strengthen the organisation as it enters a new phase following privatisation.

Earlier, Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) had announced a collaboration with Air France that will enable passengers to travel to 21 European destinations on a single ticket.
The airline said the partnership offers one-ticket travel, 21 European destinations, seamless connections, and greater convenience.
In a post announcing the collaboration, PIA said the arrangement would make travelling across Europe easier by allowing passengers to book a single ticket for their journey.
According to the airline, the partnership is aimed at providing easier access to multiple destinations across Europe through its collaboration with Air France.
