A ban on baajas has been imposed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) for August 14th in order to maintain law and order.
Section 144 has been imposed in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s capital, Peshawar. The ban will remain intact till August 15th.
Additionally, the administration has banned the sale and purchase of toy pistols and firecrackers. Aerial firing, fireworks, and one-wheeling have also been prohibited.
One-wheeling on August 14th is also banned.
Strict legal action will be taken against those violating the restrictions.
Pakistan will hold a grand parade on August 14 to mark Independence Day. This year’s parade is expected to form a major part of the national celebrations. It will also provide an opportunity to highlight Pakistan’s capabilities and strengthen the message of unity and national pride.
The 101-foot-high and 72-foot-wide dome of the mausoleum was cleaned as part of a week-long maintenance programme launched ahead of August 14 celebrations. The work also included the cleaning and polishing of the 80-foot-long chandelier, a symbol of Pakistan-China friendship.
It is pertinent to mention that Mazar-e-Quaid requires year-round maintenance and preservation efforts. However, special arrangements are made on occasions such as Independence Day to ensure that the national monument is presented in its best condition for visitors and official ceremonies.
