Strong earthquake shakes Chaman

Earthquake tremors were felt in Balochistan’s districts of Zhob and Chaman.

According to the seismological centre, the earthquake had a magnitude of 4.8 and occurred at a depth of 15 kilometres. The epicentre was located 122 kilometres northeast of Zhob.

The tremors caused panic among residents, who rushed out of their homes.

No loss of life or property has been reported so far.

Earthquake in Swat

Back on July 28, a 4.8-magnitude earthquake struck Swat. The earthquake caused brief panic among residents. However, no casualties or property damage were reported.

According to the Seismological Centre and the district administration, the earthquake occurred at 12:40 PM. Its epicentre was at a depth of 166 kilometres.

The tremors were felt in several parts of Swat. Some residents came out of their homes and workplaces as a safety precaution.

Officials said the situation remained normal after the earthquake, with no reports of injuries or damage.

Authorities continued to monitor the area and advised residents to stay alert and follow safety guidelines in case of aftershocks.

Before that, on July 19, a 4.0-magnitude earthquake struck Quetta late at night. No casualties or property damage were reported.

According to the Seismological Centre and the district administration, the earthquake occurred at 11:27 PM. It had a depth of 15 kilometres and its epicentre was about 37 kilometres northeast of Quetta.

The tremors were felt in different parts of the city. Some residents came out of their homes and workplaces as a safety precaution.

Officials said the situation remained under control after the earthquake, with no reports of injuries or damage.

Authorities continued to monitor the area and advised people to stay alert and follow safety guidelines in case of aftershocks.
