A herbal doctor from Rawalpindi, who made headlines earlier this year when he wed a much younger woman, has again attracted attention on social media by posting a patriotic song before Pakistan’s Independence Day.
In the video, Hakeem Babar, who is 60, was celebrating the 79th year of independence by singing a patriotic song with his young wife.
The two can be seen carrying and posing with the National Flag at various places such as on roads and at outdoor sites in the Islamabad-Rawalpindi region in traditional Pakistani attire.
In a few clips Babar is seen with his wife waving the Pakistani flag. Close-up images of the couple and patriotic graphics which wish the viewers a “Jashn-e-Azadi Mubarak” are also shown in the video.
Babar also appears to be addressing the camera directly in some of the footage.
The video has garnered a lot of attention, especially due to Babar’s previous social media stardom.
He became a known name when videos of his marriage in Rawalpindi with a much younger woman went viral earlier this year.
According to reports at the time, Babar and his wife’s relationship was said to be ‘based on their affection and the family’s involvement.’
In his new video, he puts his much-talked-about marriage aside and focuses on a patriotic message for Independence Day; the couple turn up in green and white attire celebrating Pakistan’s national identity.
Babar’s marriage had been met with mixed reactions online with some social media users wishing the couple the best of luck and others questioning the age difference.
The couple has now been seen celebrating Independence Day in the latest clip as they join the Pakistanis in celebrating the day across the country.
