Lahore marks 79th Independence Day in Pakistan with patriotic celebrations

Like every other city in Pakistan, Lahore is also on the front line, celebrating the 79th Independence Day with a series of ceremonies and patriotic events.

The day began after Fajr prayers with special prayers for the country’s security, stability and prosperity.

A ceremony was held at BX Stadium in Lahore Cantonment, where a smartly turned-out Pakistan Army contingent presented a salute to the national flag.

A 21-gun salute was also fired as part of the Independence Day observance.

The sound of the gun salute echoed across the area, while chants of Takbeer by army personnel added to the patriotic atmosphere.

Participants raised slogans of “Pakistan Zindabad” and expressed their love and commitment to the country.

Special prayers were also offered during the ceremony for Pakistan’s peace, prosperity, security and development.

Participants paid tribute to those who made sacrifices for the creation of Pakistan and its defence.

The celebrations reflected a strong sense of patriotism in Lahore, with participants reaffirming their commitment to contributing towards the country’s development, stability and security.

The people in Lahore also celebrated the 79th Independence Day by gathering in large numbers on the roads to watch the fireworks at 12:00am.

Liberty Chowk

A large number of people gathered at the Liberty Chowk in Lahore to enjoy the breathtaking fireworks.

Minar-e-Pakistan

A laser and sound show was held at Minar-e-Pakistan, with fireworks carried out later.
