Karachi Traffic Police has issued a special traffic plan for August 22 to manage traffic in connection with 8 Rabi-ul-Awwal.
The traffic arrangements aim to ensure the smooth movement of vehicles across the city. They will also help reduce inconvenience for commuters.
According to a spokesperson for Karachi Traffic Police, the main procession will start from Nishtar Park. Other processions will also take place at different locations across the city.
Special arrangements have been made to manage traffic around the procession routes. Traffic police officers will be deployed at different points to guide motorists and keep traffic moving smoothly.
Alternate routes and traffic arrangements
Alternate routes will be provided for people where roads are affected by the processions. Traffic Police has advised citizens to avoid procession routes whenever possible. Instead, they should use the designated alternative roads.
People travelling through affected areas have also been asked to follow the instructions of traffic police officers deployed on the roads.
Special passes will be required for people who want to join the processions using their vehicles. These passes can be obtained from the relevant central office between August 17 and August 20.
Applicants seeking a vehicle pass will have to submit their vehicle registration card, national identity card and two photographs.
Traffic Police has also made it clear that people attending the procession by vehicle must carry their original vehicle registration card and national identity card during the event.
The authorities have urged people to plan their journeys in advance. This is especially important for those who normally travel through areas where processions are scheduled.
Citizens have been requested to cooperate with police officers and follow their instructions. They should also use the alternative routes suggested by officials to avoid traffic delays.
