First Lady Aseefa Bhutto Zardari has asked for a quick investigation into the death of Hina Javed in Rawalpindi. She offered condolences to Hina’s family and stated that whoever is responsible must be punished.
Aseefa further spoke out against the killing and asked the Punjab government to carry out a proper investigation. She said people involved in the killing should not escape and justice should be prevailed.
She also called for better steps to protect women in the country and stressed upon the rising cases of violence against women.
Hina Javed was found dead in the bathroom of her flat in Rawalpindi’s Lalkurti area. According to the police report (FIR), her hands were tied behind her back, and a wire was found around her neck. Her family says she was beaten before she died.
Police registered a murder case at the Civil Lines police station after Hina’s brother filed a complaint. Her husband, Faisal Asghar, and a domestic worker named Zeeshan detained for questioning. Hina’s family has also blamed her father in law, Asghar Ali Fayyaz, for being involved.
Police say the investigation is still going on. They are waiting for the forensic report and post-mortem results.
