The Punjab government is in the process of launching a Basant Portal, an online platform that will facilitate the registration and licensing process for kite makers and kite-related businesses.
The portal will allow applicants to upload their information, check licensing requirements, upload documents and register online.
The project has been launched to make the procedure easier and minimise the need for applicants to travel to government offices.
Authorities have assured kite associations that the portal will be opened soon once preparations are completed for the activities of Basant in the province of Punjab.
Kite makers and other related industries are advised to check the official announcement to know the date of the launch of this portal and instructions for registration.
Who Can Apply?
The portal will be used to receive applications from kite makers and other persons, businesses or organisations engaged in kite manufacturing and associated activities.
All candidates will have to abide by the rules and regulations laid down by the Punjab administration.
Kite License and Safety Rules
Police are also attempting to draw up restrictions on the size of the kites and string.
Kite manufacturers will have to follow the official instructions to make sure that the production of strings complies with the approved safety standards.
The applicant will thus have to fulfil all the licensing and safety requirements for approval.
How to Apply
Upon activation of the Basant Portal, the online registration system will be available and the applicant will be able to fill out the application form with correct personal/business information.
Documents to be submitted as required must be submitted as outlined on the portal.
Once submitted, the application will be considered by authorities and processed according to the rules.
Applicants are required to keep a check on the portal for any updates on application status, as well as licensing requirements, approvals, and instructions.
