Squid Game star Trey Plutnicki has married his longtime partner Cecilia Lole in a colorful wedding ceremony in Chicago.
The couple tied the knot on August 22, 2026, surrounded by around 175 guests. Their wedding had a bright theme, which encouraged guests to dress in as many colors as possible.
Trey and Cecilia began their relationship in 2021. After several years together, Trey proposed to Cecilia in April 2025 at Lincoln Park in Chicago.
The couple explained why they selected Chicago for their wedding in an interview. They wanted their family and friends to experience the city and understand why they had fallen in love with Chicago.
Although neither of them nor their families are originally from the city, they now live there and have developed a strong connection with it.
A colorful bright themed wedding
The couple also wanted guests to enjoy more than just the wedding ceremony. They hoped their friends and relatives would turn the trip into a vacation, with their wedding becoming the main event.
Both Trey and Cecilia are musical theatre performers. They said their backgrounds have given them a love for drama and entertainment, which influenced their wedding celebrations.
For her big day, Cecilia selected a white Viero bridal gown. She explained that she had tried several wedding dresses before finding the right one. She wanted something romantic and elegant but also slightly dramatic.
When she finally tried on the Viero gown, Cecilia said it matched exactly what she had been searching for.
The couple had already reached several major relationship milestones before officially getting married. They had moved in together, purchased a house and fostered dogs together. Cecilia had also become part of Trey’s family group chats.
Trey explained that having their friends and family at the ceremony allowed them to witness the promise they were making to each other.
The couple also viewed their guests’ presence as a sign of support for their marriage and future together.
