The Higher Education Commission (HEC) has warned applicants about the fake individuals posing as “attestation agents” and offering to arrange the attestation of educational documents.
In a public alert message shared on the social media platform, the commission said it had received reports of people claiming to provide attestation services to applicants.
HEC urged students and other applicants to remain cautious and avoid sharing personal or educational information with such individuals because of the risk of fraud.
The commission said its educational document attestation process is completely online and paperless.
Applicants can submit and manage their attestation cases themselves through the HEC’s official system, without the need for an agent.
HEC advised applicants to follow the instructions available on its official website and process their cases personally.
The commission also said applicants who need assistance can use its online help desk and official contact numbers.
HEC urged the public to remain vigilant and rely only on its official channels when applying for educational document attestation.

Sindh introduces digital attendance in schools
The Sindh Education Department has expanded its digital student attendance and monitoring system to 3,481 government schools as part of efforts to modernise education in the province.
The department launched the system on the directives of Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Shah. Under the new system, each student will have a digital profile containing attendance records, academic performance and examination details.
The Education Department said it had introduced the system in 3,481 government schools by August 10. The government aims to bring all government schools in Sindh under the digital system by April 2027.
The Sindh Cabinet approved the policy in March 2026. The system will allow education officials to track students’ daily attendance and identify prolonged absences. This will help authorities identify students at risk of dropping out at an early stage.
Each student will receive a unique Student ID and QR code. Parents will receive SMS alerts if their children remain absent for a long period. This will allow parents to find out why their children are missing school and help them continue their education.
The department said the system will also help issue certificates and prepare students’ academic reports. It has also added an offline attendance option for schools in areas with poor internet connectivity.
The digital platform includes geofenced attendance and facial recognition features and connects with other education-related digital platforms.
