Lahore: After a bomb attack on police mobile van in Dera Ismail Khan (DIK), the security across Lahore has been tightened in view of concerns about coordinated assaults on sensitive targets.
Three policemen have been martyred when militants targeted a police mobile van in DI Khan.
Under the directives, the city’s police have been placed on high for monitoring at exit and entry points.
The Deputy Inspector General of Police(DIG) Faisal Karam has issued directives to all officials to tighten security measures across the provincial capital as a precautionary measure.
According to police officials, officer have been instructed to maintain continuous vigilance and enhanced monitoring to prevent any unwanted incident.
In Lahore security agencies have also been tasked with increasing patrolling and surveillance across the city.
The officials have also been instructed to increase deployment at public places, sensitive areas and major commercial markets.
The patrolling units have also been given tasks to maintain tightened surveillance across the metropolitan after the DIK attack.
Additionally, directives have also been issued to PRU, Peru and Dolphin force to remain on high alert.
Authorities have asked the citizens to cooperate with security personnel and report any suspicious activity immediately.
