Another woman murdered in Rawalpindi

Police have registered a murder case after a woman was found hanging inside a room of her house in the Habib Line area on Adiala Road.
The case was registered at Sadar Bairuni Police Station on the complaint of the woman’s brother.

According to the FIR, the woman had married Tanveer two years ago. Her husband had been working in Dubai and returned to Pakistan four months ago.

The FIR alleged that the couple frequently had disputes because Tanveer allegedly spoke to other women on the phone and spent much of his time outside the home.

The woman’s brother alleged that his brother-in-law had subjected her to mental distress for the past four days. He also said that the woman had called their mother the previous evening and complained that her in-laws were troubling her.

According to the FIR, when the woman’s brother later called her, her sister-in-law, Fiza, answered the phone and told him that the woman had died by suicide.

The woman’s brothers reached the house and found her body hanging with a noose around her neck. They alleged that Tanveer, along with Abdul Aziz, had killed her by hanging her.

Police subsequently registered a murder case against Tanveer and Abdul Aziz and took both suspects into custody.

The post-mortem examination could not determine the cause of death. Police collected different samples from the body and sent them to Lahore for forensic analysis.

Further investigation is underway, and the forensic report is expected to help determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death.
