The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has added an appointment-booking option to its Pak ID mobile app, allowing citizens to plan their visits to NADRA offices without standing in long queues.
Through the new feature, users can book an appointment from home, choose the NADRA office they want to visit and select a suitable time slot. They can then reach the office around their appointment time and get the required service without waiting in a queue.
NADRA has also rolled out an updated version of the Pak ID app with a range of new services. These include online complaint registration and access to digital identity-related services.
NADRA Public Information Officer (PIO) Syed Shabahat Ali said in a video message that the updated app allows citizens to submit complaints to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) online. Users can also update family records, upload signatures and access digital identity documents through the app.
Digital system for pensioners
NADRA has also introduced the National Pensioners Verification System (NPVS) to simplify proof-of-life verification for more than three million serving and retired pensioners.
The system covers pensioners from federal and provincial departments, the armed forces and autonomous institutions. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif officially launched the system on August 20, 2026.
The free service allows pensioners to complete proof-of-life verification digitally instead of visiting banks in person. It replaces the previous paperwork-based process with an automated system.
NADRA developed the system with elderly and disabled pensioners in mind, particularly those who may face difficulties with fingerprint verification because of faint or worn fingerprints.
Pensioners can complete the process through facial verification. Once verified, the system generates a digital Proof-of-Life Certificate and sends it directly to the relevant Pension Controller Register System.
Overseas Pakistani pensioners can also use the service to complete their verification from abroad, reducing the need for additional procedures.
