Islamabad imposes ban on shisha cafes

The Islamabad administration has imposed a complete ban on the operation of shisha cafes in the federal capital until further notice.

The Deputy Commissioner Islamabad has issued directives to all assistant commissioners, ordering them to ensure strict enforcement of the ban across the city.

According to the district administration, the ban will apply even to shisha cafes holding valid no-objection certificates (NOCs).

Under the order, both indoor and outdoor shisha operations have been prohibited in Islamabad.

The administration warned that strict action would be taken against cafes found violating the order. Any establishment found operating shisha services in breach of the directive will be sealed, while a criminal case will also be registered against the owner.

The assistant commissioners have been directed to conduct daily inspections and take action against violators without discrimination.

The Islamabad district administration said the ban will remain in effect until further orders.

Earlier, a video of an event at a café in Islamabad’s posh F-6 sector went viral on social media today. The video is allegedly showing dance and other entertainment activities after which the place was sealed, and a First Information Report (FIR) was registered, according to reports.
