A six-member list of PTI leaders seeking to meet the party’s founder, Imran Khan, at Adiala Jail has been submitted to the jail authorities. Advocate Owais Younis Chaudhry handed over the list to the jail administration ahead of the scheduled meeting tomorrow, Thursday.

The list includes Sajjad Hussain Shah, Qaiser Abbas and Saqib Miraj, along with Malik Shakeel, Zeeshan Mohsin and Daniyal Kayani. The leaders named on the list will visit Adiala Jail tomorrow to meet the PTI founder, according to media reports.

On the other hand, PTI has stepped up preparations for its planned September 27 protest in Islamabad, directing Punjab office-bearers and lawmakers to finalise arrangements for the demonstration. According to sources, PTI has also instructed its lawmakers to contribute Rs500,000 each towards the protest and mobilise party workers.

Sources further said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi’s visit to Punjab has been postponed due to preparations for the protest. According to PTI sources, lawmakers and workers from 10 districts of Central Punjab will initially gather in Lahore. A decision on whether they will stage a protest in Lahore or proceed to Islamabad will be made depending on the situation.

Meanwhile, lawmakers and workers from other districts of Punjab are expected to travel to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while all lawmakers from South Punjab will reach Peshawar a day before the protest. PTI leaders from Central Punjab, meanwhile, said preparations for the demonstration were underway, alleging that police were conducting raids at the homes of party workers and leaders.
