Apple launches its first foldable iPhone

Apple has introduced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable iPhone, featuring a large inner display, a compact outer screen and a new design built for performance and durability.

When opened, the iPhone Duo is the thinnest iPhone ever made and features a 7.6-inch inner display. Apple says the screen provides a larger canvas for watching content, gaming and multitasking, while its nano-texture finish helps reduce glare.

When folded, the device features a 5.4-inch outer display, offering 90 per cent of the screen area of the iPhone 18 Pro while maintaining a compact, pocket-friendly design. Both displays use the same aspect ratio, allowing content to scale proportionally between the two screens.

The iPhone Duo also features a precision hinge designed to provide a smooth experience during opening and closing. Apple says the device has been built for long-term durability.

Powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, the foldable iPhone comes with an advanced thermal management system, including a custom-designed vapour chamber and dual-battery architecture. The company says the setup delivers pro-level performance and all-day battery life.

The device also features an advanced camera system for photos and videos. Its folding design enables new ways to use the camera that are not available on other iPhone models.

Apple has also redesigned iOS 27 to work with the foldable form factor while keeping the familiar and intuitive iPhone experience.
With Apple Intelligence and Siri AI, the iPhone Duo also brings new artificial intelligence features designed to work with users’ personal context and everyday needs.
