More than 138,000 candidates have registered for the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT), with examination centres set to be established in 35 cities across Pakistan.
The development came during a meeting chaired by the President of the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC), where officials reviewed preparations and arrangements for the upcoming MDCAT.
PMDC orders transparent and secure test
The PMDC president directed authorities to ensure a transparent and well-organised conduct of the examination.
Officials were informed that a total of 138,158 candidates have registered for the MDCAT. Examination centres will be established in 35 cities, while an international examination centre will also be set up in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The PMDC president said the prime minister had directed authorities to ensure transparency in the MDCAT, adding that no compromise would be made on the transparency and integrity of the examination.
Universities asked to strengthen coordination
The PMDC president said provincial authorities and universities would be responsible for maintaining the transparency and confidentiality of the test.
Provincial authorities assured the meeting that all necessary arrangements would be completed in advance.
The PMDC president also directed medical universities to ensure effective coordination for the MDCAT and called for professional management and adequate security arrangements at all examination centres.
