The Punjab government has announced a rental subsidy of up to Rs25,000 for paddy farmers under the Chief Minister’s Punjab Clean Air Programme.
Under the initiative, farmers using super seeders can receive a subsidy of Rs5,000 per acre, with the maximum subsidy capped at Rs25,000.
Who is eligible?
Farmers who use a super seeder for paddy cultivation will be eligible for the rental subsidy.

Which farmers can apply?
The subsidy is available to farmers in selected districts of Punjab, including Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh, Jhang, Chiniot, Gujrat, Mandi Bahauddin, Hafizabad, Wazirabad, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Narowal, Sheikhupura, Nankana Sahib, Lahore, Kasur, Okara, Sahiwal, Pakpattan, Multan, Lodhran, Khanewal, Vehari and Bahawalnagar.

Farmers can register online through the Punjab Agriculture Department’s official website.
Applicants should visit the department’s website at agripunjab.gov.pk to access the online registration process.
The programme aims to encourage farmers to adopt super seeders and promote cleaner agricultural practices as part of Punjab’s efforts to improve air quality.
Earlier, Punjab Chief Minister (CM) Maryam Nawaz approved a monthly instalment of around Rs3,028 for students under the Chief Minister Electric Bike Scheme.
The scheme has been launched for students across Punjab. Students from both public and private educational institutions can get electric bikes at a lower price and with easy instalments.
What is the eligibility criteria?
Around 100,000 students from more than 33,000 schools, colleges and universities across Punjab will be eligible for the scheme.
The original price of an electric bike is Rs199,000. After the government subsidy, students will pay Rs109,000.
How long will the total amount take to pay?
The amount will be paid in 36 monthly instalments of around Rs3,028.
The Punjab government will cover the cost of insurance, markup and registration, so students will not have to pay these additional charges.
The electric bikes will be available in different colours. Pink bikes will also be available for female students.

The Punjab government says the scheme aims to provide students, especially female students, with affordable and convenient transport and help them continue their education without travel problems.
The scheme will also support the use of environmentally friendly electric vehicles in Punjab.
