In a new documentary called Musk, Elon Musk’s first wife, Justine Musk, has shared her story about the billionaire entrepreneur.
The 54-year-old author, in the nearly four-hour documentary helmed by director Alex Gibney, talked about her interactions with Musk and made a few revelations about how she was treated.
Justine said she was made to feel “insignificant” during the relationship, and eventually learned of the word ‘gaslighting’ from her experiences.
In the documentary, she said that “he was always saying that something that I was doing was not good enough.”
In addition, she said she remembered when they were dancing at their wedding in January 2000, and Musk told her he was the “alpha.”
He would also allegedly speak to her in the same tone as a boss would speak to an employee, said Justine.
Together before their divorce in 2008, the former couple had six children. They had twins and triplets and their eldest son, Nevada, passed away at 10 weeks old in 2002.
Also during the documentary, Justine challenged a previous online post from Musk that said who was holding their son at the time of the tragedy, claiming she was holding Nevada.
She also spoke about Musk’s estrangement from their transgender daughter, Vivian.
Justine alleged that while he had said to her, “I’m always going to love her,” he never tried to mend their relationship.
Justine, among other things, claimed that Musk ended her relationship with her health insurance at some point.
Musk wasn’t involved in the documentary and has in the past called the film a “hit piece” on social media.
The film also includes interviews with other women who are involved with Musk, such as Ashley St. Clair, who allegedly shared her experience with the billionaire.
Musk will go wide release on October 16.
