Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shah Mahmood Qureshi’s daughter, Meher Bano Qureshi, has demanded an apology from her party member and KP’s Information Minister Shafi Jan.
In a post on X, she said, “As a woman and a fellow party member, I would urge my brother Shafi Jan to retract his words and tender an apology.”
“An apology is due. There is a lot to criticise when it comes to Maryam Nawaz and her coterie of handmaidens, but the unparliamentary and ungentlemanly language used is wrong and deeply offensive”, Meher Bano Qureshi added.

Shafi Jan is currently facing public backlash after his vulgar and controversial statements regarding women, especially against the Chief Minister (CM) of Punjab, Maryam Nawaz Sharif.
In his speech at the KP assembly, he made very disrespectful and controversial statements about the Punjab CM, which have sparked a social media debate.
Journalists have also condemned the statement made by Jan. Senior journalist Ajmal Jami said in his tweet on X that Shafi Jan’s statement is unfortunate and a shameful act that should be condemned.
