Saudi Arabia will observe a public holiday on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, to mark Saudi National Day.
Saudi National Day is celebrated every year on September 23. The day marks the unification of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Under Article 112 of the Saudi Labour Law, workers are entitled to paid leave on official holidays and other occasions set by the law.
Article 24 of the implementing regulations also lists Saudi National Day as a one-day public holiday.
Employees who work in jobs that require services to continue during public holidays may have different arrangements. Work done during a public holiday is treated as overtime under Saudi labour rules.
Will Pakistani missions and NADRA offices open tomorrow?
NADRA has informed Pakistanis living in Saudi Arabia that its offices located at the Pakistani missions in Riyadh, Jeddah and Madinah will remain closed on the occasion of Saudi National Day.
The closure is due to the public holiday announced by the Saudi government.
NADRA has advised Pakistanis to use the Pak ID mobile app to access its services during the holiday.
The app will allow citizens to use NADRA services without visiting the offices in person.
Can Pakistanis go to Saudi Arabia visa-free?
Earlier, Pakistan and Saudi Arabia agreed to remove visa requirements for holders of diplomatic and official passports.
Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar met Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan in New York. The two countries signed an agreement during the meeting.
Ishaq Dar said the agreement would further strengthen the partnership between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia.
He said that it would also make official visits and institutional exchanges between the two countries easier.
The removal of visa requirements is expected to make official travel between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia more convenient.
